Simple old trick. Back to back aerial with a finger drop at the end to end up back in fronthand.
A fun combo, RTB Finger Spins with a body pivot finishing into Opposite Finger Spins, then eventually a Reverse Shoulder Pass.
The basic motion of this trick is almost identical to the Reverse Shoulder Pass (Demo/Tutorial). Instead of catching however we hook the Nunchaku around the opposite arm above the elbow, from behind the body. With the hook the Nunchaku can be pinned between your bicep and forearm or the chain allowed to just rest on the arm. At the same time as the hook occurs release grip of the bar in your hand, the Nunchaku will be briefly guided by the elbow of the side taking control. The released side will swing over your shoulder and without much help the momentum will deliver the loose bar back into the same hand.
The actual hook is really easy, its just more fun with all the spins! Enjoy!
Starting with the side bounce pass to a single opposite arm spin and repeat on the other side, then onto adding more opposites arm spins.
You can mix all sorts of digit/wrist tricks into this simple pattern. More on that very soon! S
Mixing in another armpit catch trick with one of the most basic passes.
Mostly simple stuff today. The only thing to watch out for is hitting your elbow with the armpit catch.
More later! S
Something nice and easy. A simple way to bridge a between horizontal and vertical path. More very soon! S
Now we’re going to take yesterdays trick and finish it with a Primary Hand Wrist Intercept!
Instead of the catch you could always SAH again… S
The last few posts were pretty heavy duty so now we’re going to go through something very simple that we will build upon a lot later. The Backhand Catch and Return:
This easy structure allows for a remarkable amount of innovation as you will see in the first of my new HD tutorials: Trick Progression – Comming soon! S
Front to Back Finger Spin to Back to Back Spin/Aerial Hybrid to Intercept Finger Spin/Spin Aerial Hybrid to Backhand Catch to Broken Back to Back Wrist Spin. Don’t be put off by the name, once you understand the principles behind this its quite straight forward.
I’ll break it down into stages:
Start in Fronthand, Finger Spin to Backhand then the Spin/Aerial Hybrid (SAH). With the SAH you’re going to do the shape of a Back to Back Wrist Spin but instead of catching you flick the chucks into the air with an open palm, complimenting the existing momentum to get an Aerial. Done right the path is predictable. Then comes the Intercept. Same as the yesterdays Intercept but in the opposite direct, Backhand to Backhand. Repeat the previous SAH but obviously with fingers instead, for another Aerial then catch in Backhand. Again not wasting any momentum you put your wrist in position so the Nunchaku wrap around, then catch.
The important things I see here are the SAH and the Intercept. With these tricks and a few more we haven’t covered yet you can bridge the gaps between other tricks with more tricks, off into infinity.. Beautiful!
More to come on that tomorrow. S
